TP Transcription, University Transcriptions and TP Translations contribute ten per cent of annual net profits to charity through the Ten Percent Foundation. For the 2026 round, the trustees allocated £26,971 across a broad range of organisations nominated by clients, researchers, transcribers and the group.
Recipients work in learning disability, cancer support, youth services, rehabilitation, mental health, community arts, stroke support, dementia, domestic-abuse services, music, conservation and international development. Awards ranged from small targeted contributions to a £5,000 grant for Centre 63 in Kirkby.
Why unrestricted support matters
Some awards fund a named activity; others contribute to administration. Core costs are not an afterthought: secure premises, coordination, governance and staff time allow a charity to deliver its front-line work. The Foundation therefore considers both direct projects and the infrastructure behind them.
Suggesting a future recipient
Clients and members of the transcription community can propose organisations for a later round through the Ten Percent Foundation. Nominations help the trustees discover smaller groups that may not have large fundraising teams.
